Our flagship blend, “Shwe Taun”, means golden farmer in Burmese. What better way is there to pay homage to the amazing farmers we work with? Shwe Taun is smooth, yet rich and balanced; and it is our most versatile coffee that tastes great in any brew method, but especially as an espresso or french press. Choose between one pound, two pounds or five pounds per month depending on how much you and your family need. You’ll never have to remember to order coffee again!

The Blend: Our “Shwe Taun” Blend offers the perfect way to start each morning (or enjoy all day!). With the complex balance of aromatics, fruit and depth – our Shwe Taun blend offers a rich yet smooth combination that we designed for espresso and french press alike.

The Beans: Shwe Taun is made up of coffees that all compliment each other to create that balanced final product. We design our flagship blend to be a slightly richer style, something that will work in your espresso, french press, or any brew for that matter. Shwe Taun means “golden mountain” in Myanmar - a place that inspired us to focus on sourcing sustainable and direct coffees from underrepresented places in SE Asia. Our farmer friends and partners are in the forefront of our thoughts (all of them ethnic minorities from rural regions in the north of Myanmar); and we will continue to directly trade with them as long as we can, given the political situations over there.

Sustainability: The Shwe Taun blend meets all our requirements for transparency and sustainability. Nilaa Coffee pays a very fair price for each coffee. This ensures farmers and producers at the beginning of the supply chain are making a good living, able to support their families and communities, and re-invest back into their farms and mills to create a sustainable product and industry for themselves and their children. The farmers we work with understand the importance of environmental stewardship and the potential affects that climate change will have on their production – and ultimately their bottom line. They are also Rainforest Certified.
